We check in on our sexy speed racer and his partner in rehearsals, as well as see a clip from his time on The Bachelorette!
Arie Luyendyk, Jr. shot his way to fame when his charming face was first shown on screen in Emily Maynard's season of The Bachelorette in 2012. Throughout the season, fans grew more and more convinced that he would be Maynard's eventual husband. He reached the final two before being rejected while proposing to Emily. Since then, Arie maintains his celebrity status as a racecar driver, following in his famous father's footsteps. Here's a clip from 2012's The Bachelorette that made millions of women swoon for Arie!
When we stopped by Arie & Cheryl's rehearsals, Arie was quite shy and told us that he had no clue what he was doing! But we had to give the Arizona native some credit. For a racecar driver turned reality television star, the odds are stacked against him to a degree. His partner Cheryl Burke (who giddily tells us Arie is her hottest partner yet) is very confident that his first dance will ignite the fans and make them race to the phone to vote! It should also be noted that this isn't Cheryl's first Bachelorette alum, dancing with Kiptyn Locke in the cancelled third season of the game! Fellow DWTS and Bachelorette alum (from Arie's season) Sean Lowe also took to Twitter to support his former co-star!
"You know, Bachelor/Bachelorette celebrities have been moderately successful on the DWTSGame. I remember Kiptyn Locke WAY back in 2009 in the cancelled season, and he was trailblazing the competition. Then we've also seen Ali Fedotowsky recently and she did amazing. I'm definitely feeling the pressure to keep this streak going!"
- Arie Luyendyk, Jr.
Well, as Arie points out, the certain stars of the Bachelor/ette who have taken part in the game have all been moderately successful. The pressure is DEFINITELY on to keep this success streak going. Will Arie live up to the hype? We'll have to wait until November 21st when he and 6 other iconic male TV stars take the floor! In the meantime, let us know - will YOU be voting to keep this Bachelor/ette lucky streak going? Let us know in the poll below or drop us a comment!
